The state of Europe’s food systems transitions
Food systems transition in Europe is a multi-dimensional and contested process that cannot be adequately monitored through outcome indicators alone.
A recent report reviews ongoing monitoring practices. The main gap identified in the report is the need to monitor processes of change in food systems, beyond trend analysis of outcomes.
The report then presents the directions for establishing a Food Systems Observatory for Europe that develops a research infrastructure among 30 partners within ecosystems for tracking food system transitions from local to European levels.
In future editions the report will be introduced in more detail.
