Call for Experts – FutureFoodS Call 2025

FutureFoodS invites qualified experts to participate in the evaluation of proposals submitted to the FutureFoodS Call 2025: “Accelerating Food Sustainability”.

FutureFoodS is a Horizon Europe co-funded partnership aiming to support the transition towards environmentally friendly, socially fair, economically viable, healthy and safe food systems in Europe. The 2025 call supports transnational research and innovation projects addressing:

• Household dietary shifts towards sustainable and healthy diets

• Circular and sustainable food processing systems

Role of the International Expert Panel

Experts will be appointed to the International Expert Panel (IEP) and will evaluate pre-proposals and full proposals in a two-step selection procedure. Each proposal is assessed remotely by three independent experts. Evaluation meetings will take place online and in person.

Experts may be assigned additional roles, such as rapporteur or chair, contributing to consensus building and the final ranking of proposals.

Eligibility and Expertise

Experts must:

• Have expertise relevant to the call topics

• Not be applicants or partners in proposals submitted to this call

• Be available during the evaluation period (January–October 2026)

Evaluations will follow the FutureFoodS guiding principles, including a food systems approach, interdisciplinarity, stakeholder engagement and sustainability.

Reimbursement

Experts are reimbursed per evaluated proposal and per evaluation meeting. Travel and accommodation costs for in-person meetings are reimbursed according to actual costs. Additional remuneration applies for specific roles.
